Prosecuting Attorney


Rebecca has been a Prosecuting Attorney for 9 years. Rebecca started her career in the City of Kent, prosecuting Domestic Violence Crimes. Working for the City of Kent taught Rebecca that a prosecutor's job is to do justice, always.  While in Kent, Rebecca prosecuted general crimes, Domestic Violence, handled criminal appeals, and drafted the City of Kent's Child Neglect Ordinance.

In 2003, Rebecca became an Assistant City Attorney with the City of Seattle. Rebecca initially worked in the general crimes unit, prosecuting crimes like DUIs, Assaults, and Thefts, and a complex stalking case. Rebecca worked in the Domestic Violence Unit for two years, handling serious Domestic Violence cases. Rebecca fought for victim's rights and taught others how to prosecute domestic violence cases.

Rebecca currently works in the Appellate Unit, handling criminal appeals. She has handled appealsinvolving jury instructions, due process violations, habeas corpus petitions, 6th Amendment clause violations, double jeopardy, prosecutorial misconduct, and ineffective assistance of counsel. Rebecca recently argued before the Washington State Supreme Court on a complex DUI case.

These experiences make Rebecca the best candidate for Federal Way Municipal Court, Position One. She's worked in many different courts, with many different prosecutors, judges, defense attorneys, police officers, and probation officers.  Rebecca knows how to work within a two judge court system, and knows the law. She is the most qualified candidate for judge.
